Karin K. Jensen is a professional member of the Author’s Guild and participates in the To Live and Write writer’s group. She writes local news stories for the Alameda Sun, NewsBreak and AsAm News. In 2021, she twice won NewsBreak editorial awards, one on the topic of #StopAsianHate. For her work, Authority Magazine named her a Social Impact Author. The Magazine also named her video “Five Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Became An Author” one of their favorite ‘Five Things’ videos of 2021.

In February 2021, Karin signed a publishing contract with a small press for her narrative non-fiction debut. Unfortunately, due to budget concerns, the publisher later offered to release her from the contract. Consequently, she is now querying for My Name is King Ying: One Girl’s Transpacific Quest of Resilience, Survival, and New World Dreams. She is happy to provide the publisher’s glowing letter of recommendation.
